Picture Name: A Huddle
Where Painted: In studio at Tolbooth Art Centre, Kirkcudbright, from a photo
Medium: Pastel on grey pastel paper
Size: 16ins x 20ins inclusive of mount. Supplied framed under glass in a silver/gold frame.
Inspiration: I loved this combination of the shapes of Queen of the South players’ hands and arms in a tiny photo in a match programme. The photo was much too small to paint from, so I had to take photos of it with my own camera until I got one that was big enough and clear enough to work from. I did a charcoal version of this and sold it before I did this pastel version. I did quite a few sketches for both pictures as it is not easy to get the shapes right.
Price: £200 (including frame and p & p)
