During the month of July, 2021 I had an exhibition in Kirkcudbright Tolbooth. It was a nice surprise that I was able to have the exhibition as I had thought it would be called off again as it had been the previous year due to Coronavirus. I sold over 20 works and currently have 3 oil paintings for sale in the Tolbooth ground floor shop. I was also delighted to be asked to display some work at Kirkcudbright Galleries. I currently have 5 watercolours in the shop area at the Galleries.
Regrettably I had to pull out of the exhibition I was meant to be having in the Studio at the Tolbooth, Kirkcudbright due to difficult family circumstances. I have an idea to apply for another exhibition there next year, so watch this space and I will keep you posted.
I have recently been working on some calligraphy pieces featuring wording that was meaningful to me and intend to get some of this onto the gallery page of the website soon.
I have now added a number of recent pictures to the gallery, as promised in my previous post.
I am also now having an exhibition in the Studio at the Tolbooth Art Centre, Kirkcudbright, setting up on 16th July until 12 August 2019.
Review of 2018 and look ahead to 2019
Happy New Year 2019 to anyone reading this.
2018 was quite a good year for me on the painting and calligraphy front. I had another exhibition at the Tolbooth Art Centre in Kirkcudbright in July. It was successful and I found it particularly enjoyable, with a lot of pleasant, interesting chats with visitors and good sales. I also had four calligraphy commissions to work on, two of which were fairly large-scale, featuring line drawings. It is good to know that I can now consider pieces involving 300-400 words.
I am currently involved in some book illustration which is another new direction for me. Regrettably I will not be able to have a solo exhibition in 2019, but hope to submit work to some group exhibitions locally.
Look out for some new additions to the online gallery in the near future.
