Autumn Hydrangea 1
Where Painted: In studio
Medium: Watercolour on a ‘not’ surface paper
Size: 14ins x 18ins – inclusive of mount supplied
Inspiration: A friend commissioned me to paint another type of flower in the same style as ‘Essence of Sweet Peas’. I chose hydrangeas as I had been admiring the autumn colours of them in the garden. I painted a few for my friend to choose from and this is the one I am happiest with, especially the vase which I have painted “economically”. It’s difficult to say how long I spent working on this one as I was baking batches of rolls at the time and kept having to stop what I was doing to attend to things in the kitchen!
