Picture Name: Winter Hydrangea 1
Where Painted: In studio at home from life
Medium: Watercolour on a ‘not’ surface paper
Size: 12ins x 15ins inclusive of mount supplied
Inspiration: I find the colours of hydrangeas become in autumn and winter more interesting to paint. The hydrangea in this picture is bright blue in summer. I painted this without pre-drawing, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. I am happy with how this one turned out.
